The 5003S is the "tightest" clearance hydraulic lifter possible. It is as close as you can get to a mechanical lifter performance and still have the low maintenance of a hydraulic lifter cam. This is the reason they produce the most power. A Tru-Arc retaining ring is used in this Johnson Hy-Lift lifter made in the USA.
Do not use oil heavier than 10W30 oil.
Note: These are not the unreliable "short travel" lifters youhear about. Think of these as very stiff shock absorbers.
