WHEN USING THIS SPRING ON SLANT 6 HEADS, THE STEP ON THE SPRING BASE MUST BE MILLED FLAT, and must have the guide cut for a positive type seal. When open pressure on double valve springs exceeds 350lbs, new flat tappet camshafts should be "broken-in" by running the engine at 2000RPM for 30 minutes and using the outer spring only.
These springs are generally used on small block engines with solid flat tappet or hydraulic roller cams.
Our camshafts are not comparable to other manufactures and require special valve spring pressures to operate and live satisfactorily. ONLY USE springs meeting the specifications listed here or on the provided cam cards. Valve spring pressures and installed heights are supplied with each camshaft.
Magnum iron heads need the spring pockets machined to get the proper installed height and + .100" longer valves to use these springs.
